Branching Out

There is something quietly powerful about looking up at a towering tree against a clear blue sky. This particular day was a cold day, this tree was not yet softened by spring leaves. This job consisted of tree climbing to carefully work among the branches and safely piece down a tree that was leaning towards a home. After Hurricane Helene, our community was faced with unimaginable. It completely reshaped our whole community not only on the ground, in the mountains, in the rivers, but very much in our hearts. Every single one of us are more consciousness of our trees around our home or even the placement of our homes. Could our homes be affected with a fallen tree, swept away with a landslide, or rushing of the river. That's exactly what this homeowner realized when he watched the rushing of the water and falling down trees around his home.

Tree work like this often goes unnoticed from the ground. Most people see the finished result - a cleaner canopy, improved safety, or a removed hazard but not the process it takes to get there. This photo offers a rare glimpse into that process. Every cut, every step, is planned.

There is also an element of trust in this kind of work. Trust in the gear, trust in the team below, and trust in the knowledge built over time. It's not just about climbing - it's about understanding the tree itself: how it grows, how it responds, and how to work with it rather than against it.

All that being said, Miller's Tree Service is officially open for business. I have decided to take my experience and 'Branch Out' to start a business of my own and serve my community and surrounding. Here I'll be sharing a lot of my work with you and hopefully find more opportunity within my community to give you trusted tree work service.
